- Juvenile Cards
Children 17 years of age and younger must apply in person with a parent/guardian.
- Teacher Cards
Special library cards will be available to teachers who reside or teach in the greater Orrville area, including student teachers and preschool teachers. Requests from teachers outside the greater Orrville area should be referred to the Circulation Manager, the Youth Services Manager, or the Director.
Verification of teacher employment status must be presented to receive a teacher card. Homeschool teachers should show their “Homeschooling Acceptance Letter.”
Teacher card status must be renewed each school year.
There is a limit of one card per educator.
Orrville Public Library print materials checked out on teacher cards will circulate for three (3) weeks. Materials may be renewed five (5) times. No overdue fees will be charged. A total of up to 100 items may be checked out on a teacher card at any given time.
Orrville Public Library audiovisual items may be checked out on a teacher card, but the loan period will be the standard loan period for the media. Charges will accrue.
Items from other libraries, including audiovisual, may be checked out, but the lending library’s loan period and overdue fee schedule will apply.
If notified by a teacher of a special circumstance or need, staff is empowered to make reasonable accommodation.
Charges will be assessed for lost and damaged items.
The teacher card is for classroom materials only. Items for personal use will not be checked out on a teacher card.
- Red Riders Read Cards (aka 3 for Me)
Students age 17 and under may apply for a Red Riders Read card without a parent or guardian. Borrowing privileges are restricted to eMedia (eBooks, eMagazines, eMovies, eMusic, and online databases) and three (3) print (books, magazines) items.
The Red Riders Read card may be used as a primary library card or as a secondary library card. Students must be able to give their address, phone number, and email.
Red Riders Read cards are only good for Orrville Public Library items and will expire at the end of their senior year.
No fines will be charged on items once the material is returned in good condition.
Students in k-6 (JV-R) are limited to print items in the Children’s Department.
Students in 7-12 (YA-R) have no print limits.
- Golden Buckeye/Senior Cards
OPL offers seniors aged 60 and older fine exempt status on borrowed items.
Fines will be assessed for items that are lost or damaged.
Senior exemption status is determined using the date of birth that is entered in your library account.
- eCard
Individuals 18 and over can apply for an online library card.
Library eCards obtained through the online application will only be valid for electronic materials (eBooks, digital magazines and music, Hoopla, etc.) until a valid photo ID and proof of current address is presented in person at Orrville Public Library.
To apply for a library card online, individuals will fill out the Online Application using a valid email address.
