Fandom Week 2023

Celebrate all of your favorite books, movies, comics, and teams with us Monday, October 23rd through Saturday, October 28th. Wear a fandom shirt or dress as a character for fun! Teens & adults can complete activities to earn prize entries for fun, fandom-themed prizes.  Children will use stickers to vote for their favorite characters.

OUR DAILY THEMES:

-Sports (football, baseball, etc.)

-Space & Time (Star Wars, Doctor Who, etc.)

-Sword & sorcery (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc.)

Fall Story Time

Story Times are available for babies through five years of age.  Story Times are held weekly and begin the week of September 30th, concluding the week of November 11th.  There will be NO Story Times on Wednesday, October 9th, as the library will be closed.  Those sessions will be held on Friday, October 11th.

September 1st Crafternoon

Kids in grades 3-6 will enjoy using a variety of creative techniques and media as part of our monthly first-Friday Crafternoon series.  On Friday, September 1st at 4 p.m. we will be using collaborative art: Glue & Chalk Abstract.

Registration is required and begins on Monday, August 14th.  Register by clicking on the activity in our website calendar or by contacting the Children's Department at 330-683-1065.

2024 - 2025 Book Club

Our Book Club meets monthly, September through May, taking the month of December off.  Choose from the 10 a.m. or the 6:30 p.m. gathering.  No registration is needed.

August 4th Crafternoon

Brain Freeze

Students in Grades 5-8 can read year-round and earn a treat coupon or small prize for every 300 minutes of reading completed. Pick up a log sheet from the Information Desk to track your reading minutes and book titles.  Turn your completed log sheet in to the Information Desk and draw from the Brain Freeze Jar.  You have a chance to win a prize from Dairy Queen, McDonald's, Orr Valley Creamery, or Taco Bell (limit of 3 prizes per month.)

Adult Summer Take & Make

Beginning June 1, adults can pick up a kit at the Information Desk to make a paperbag album.  We will show you how to use basic paper lunchbags and photos, sayings, embellishments of your choosing to make a simple and unique gift.  Kits will be available while supplies last.

Summer Story Time

Registration begins Tuesday, May 30th for our Summer Story Times. 

Story Times are available for babies through grade 2.  Story Times are held weekly and begin the week of June 12, concluding the week of July 24. 

There will be no Story Times the week of July 3.

Star Wars Day

Visit the Orrville Public Library Thursday, May 4th as we celebrate Star Wars day with activities and cardboard cutouts of your favorite characters throughout the library.
