The January Book Club selection is “The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio.”
The book is based on the true story of Evelyn Ryan who supported her family by writing prize-winning jingles. During her career, she won everything from a pony to a trip to New York City.
Dealing with an abusive alcoholic husband, she managed to raise 10 children and save her home from foreclosure.
